N-Dubz use hypnotherapy

N-DUBZ star TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS underwent a course of hypnotherapy to stop her squeezing spots on her face.

The singer suffered severe breakouts as a teenager and became obsessed with picking her pimples.
She eventually decided a drastic course of therapy was needed to change her behaviour - and she's pleased her bad habit didn't leave her with acne scars.

Contostavlos tells Britain's X Magazine, "I stopped doing it about six months ago. From the age of about 14, I used to spend hours in front of the mirror squeezing literally anything I could find. I could have the tiniest little blackhead and I'd attack it until it was bright red and my skin was all broken and damaged. I'm so lucky I don't have loads of scars.

"I had hypnotherapy. I was really sceptical about it working but it totally did. Now I'll only squeeze a spot if I really need to and then I'll put Savlon on afterwards to heal it. It's made such a dramatic difference to me. It's amazing."

So, who likes the snow?

Awaking early morning, looking out of the window, seeing flurries of little tiny white snowflakes drifting down and settling on a crisp white carpet.

Sounds like a scene from Raymond Briggs'  'The Snowman' doesn't it? And even though such a scene may be most welcome to some, making school children dash for their sledges, it can cement feelings of dread in other people.

The winter months start to tighten their grip on the people suffering from SAD. That's Seasonal Affective Disorder to the layman.

It is becoming better know nowadays through exposure in the media. It is a condition that effects many people, and as the days grow shorter and darker a feeling of bleakness and dread sets in.

Sometimes described as being sad or having the winter blues, this disorder detaches the sufferer from the joys and festive spirit usually associated with this time of the year. Unable to enjoy celebrating with family and friends the sufferers begin to feel an onset of hopelessness.

I know all of this sounds like doom and gloom - but there is a solution.

Hypnosis!

Through hypnosis one can learn to successfully manage stress and negative thought patterns while introducing a little positivity, motivation and general confidence. New outlook and hope will allow the sufferer to reframe their own views of this time of the year and start to be more optimistic, who knows they may even start to enjoy the seasonal changes.

If you'd like to know more about S.A.D. or any other symptom which hypnosis may be able to help you with - please visit my website or give me a call.

Wishing you all the seasonal best wishes

Hypnosis CDs

You are looking to make a positive change in your life and hypnosis is an option that can make it happen. We have all heard of the many success stories from people who have used hypnosis to change their lives and we feel a sense of excitement and curiosity, after all, what have we got to loose?

Hypnosis can produce unbelievable results and can play an important part in our personal development. There are however, a few unknown, common mistakes you need to avoid when choosing a hypnosis program to ensure you reap the greatest results possible.

Keep these 5 common mistakes at the forefront of your mind and you will save money, enjoy the process more and see greater, permanent results.

Read Unbiased Hypnosis Reviews
As simple as it may sound but you would be surprised how many people do not read hypnosis reviews before making a purchase. Every company will tell you they are no.1 and offer the best hypnosis products, so how can you find the real truth?

Unbiased, hypnosis user reviews are excellent for deciding whether a product or service will give you the results you desire before parting with your money.

It’s important to keep in mind that not one product or service will please 100% of people, which is a good thing as it is the basis for competition which results in greater value delivered to us, the users. However, reading truthful hypnosis reviews with unbiased user reviews will give you a sense as to whether this company or person is right for you.

It’s a very good habit to write honest user reviews yourself as not only will you be giving informative information to other potential buyers, the act of writing a review will clarify your thoughts on a particular product and allow you to move forward with greater understanding and clarity.

Know Exactly What You’re Looking to Improve
This is the biggest mistake that the majority of people make. Are you looking to loose weight or do you really suffer from low self confidence/self esteem?

Do you need more motivation or are you just lacking focus? Identifying the cause issue you are trying to solve is vital to your success. A commonality in many unsuccessful hypnosis cases is that they are simply using the wrong programs. Any well experienced hypnotist will first spend time identifying your core issues before they start the hypnosis process, be sure you do the same.

Choose a Credible Hypnosis Company/Hypnotist
There are many hypnosis companies/hypnotists out on the market, some are great and others not. Be sure to choose an established, credible company with a successful track record. This can often be done by spending some time browsing the company website, looking for user testimonials, company partners and also reading hypnosis reviews. The quality of your product is important and can dramatically change the results produced. Fortunately, there are many credible hypnosis companies on the internet, all with successful track records and high quality products.
Be sure to check out their money back guarantees. Before you make a purchase, understand what the guarantee is and what you would have to do to get your money back. By following the points above, having to send back your purchase will be unlikely however it pays to cover your back for the worst case scenario and will leave you with peace of mind.

Set an Implementation Plan
It’s astonishing how many people purchase a program, listen to it once or twice then claim the program doesn’t work – do not fall into this category. When buying a program, set out a full implementation plan to ensure you see the greatest results.

Commit to listening to your program once or twice a day, 4-7 days a week for 2-4 weeks, preferably at the same time each day.  Do not listen to your program as and when, but set a full plan for up to a month, when you will stop and take note of the results.

Approaching hypnosis from this perspective will dramatically increase the results seen and will ensure you reap the full benefits.

Do Not Put All Your Eggs in One Basket
Its part of human nature to look for one big, sweeping change that will dramatically change everything, after all, why do you think so many people play the lottery?

For many of us, this will be our first time in using hypnosis as a tool for positive change and it’s easy to look upon it as the one solution to all our problems, but this is a very unhealthy perspective to have when choosing a suitable program.

Approach hypnosis as another powerful tool, in your tool box, that you’re using to make the changes you desire. This perspective settles our expectations, allows us to approach it with more light heartedness and inevitably produces more significant results.

Keeping these 5 common mistakes at the forefront of your mind when purchasing a hypnosis product will ensure you set off on the right foot and down the path of desired, positive change. Life is fun and approaching the change you want to make with a sense of light heartedness will immediately produce greater results – and you’ll have a better time along the way. Don’t see hypnosis as the be all solution to your challenge, see it as another method your experimenting with that can produce fantastic results.

28 Proven ways to Boost Your Stress

People are running around these days in what seems like an effort to carry around as much stress as humanly possible.

With this in mind I thought I’d allow Grey Matterz to hand out some time and energy saving tips for those wanting to stress out even more.
Have a read and see if it’s possible to hold onto any more stress than you already do…

• Be sure to expect much more than is possible.

• Demand perfection from everyone and everything around you.

• Be as miserable as possible when things go wrong.

• Worry about anything and everything…especially those things over which you have no control.

• Become inflexible. Demand that everyone do things your way.

• Don’t listen to other opinions or ideas. Dismiss them as irrelevant.

• Try to do twice as much as you can actually accomplish.

• Multi-task your multi-tasking. Fill your schedule and then try to fit in more things.

• Try to treat every matter as the most important thing in the world.

• Every minor thing should heighten your anger level.

• Completely abandon your sense of humour.

• Take things personally. Don’t wait for things to bother you.

• Go out and look for things that will annoy you and let them get under your skin.

• Any mistake or problem should be taken as a personal insult.

• Be cynical about the world.

• Look for events and situations that back up your view.

• Ignore any good news.

• Be pessimistic about other people’s motives.

• Be suspicious of everyone.

• Watch television, especially reality shows.

• Turn the volume up during commercials.

• Eat lots of junk food and drink soda.

• Abandon your ability to change and adapt to the world around you.

• Be rigid in your body and mind.

• Don’t allow anything to disturb your misery.

• Hold your breath, don’t exercise.

• Tighten your shoulder muscles and slouch.

• Frown, scowl and be sure to crease the lines your forehead.

PLEASE NOTE:
Please consult your personal physician before undertaking any stress-increasing activities.

IMPORTANT WARNING:
Failure to follow these guidelines can result in occasional bouts of peace, harmony, relaxati0n and a clear head.

You should be catching my drift by now… I hope.

Choosing the right therapist for you.

Hello there,

Today I thought I’d share with you some of the handy hints and tips I would suggest if you are thinking about having hypnotherapy. Here is a guide on what questions I think you should be asking, in order for you to make a qualified decision.

1. Do some research
Choose carefully. Phone a shortlist of hypnotherapists in your area and ask a few questions such as:
•  How does hypnosis work?
•  Have they worked with people like you?
•  How many sessions do they envisage?
•  What training have they had?
•  Do they offer support between sessions?
If their answers are open and you feel comfortable about how they sound, this can be a good first step.
2. Ask about the cost!
Calling to establish prices may give you an idea of price but not of quality: better qualified hypnotherapists may charge more but may save you in the long run by being more effective more quickly.
With the exception of one session smoking cessation, your hypnotherapy may take a number of sessions, so take this into account.
3Play your part
Any therapy is a partnership. The hypnotherapist brings their skills, you bring knowledge of you. Be honest and open with your therapist. If you don’t feel that you trust them, go back to step 1. and find another therapist.
4. Talk about the trance state
A hypnotic trance is not like you see it in stage hypnosis – that’s entertainment – clinical hypnosis is therapeutic. People may experience trance differently: some feel heavy, some light, some drift off into a sleep-like state, some can hear every word that’s said.
Your therapist will have lots of techniques to help you access trance and can vary what s/he does to suit you. Talk to your therapist in advance about what it might be like and let them know afterwards how you experienced it.
5. Tell us how you feel!
Hypnosis is likely to involve you closing your eyes, sitting in a room with a hypnotist who you’ve only just met. Not the most naturally relaxed of situations!
If you don’t feel comfortable, physically, or with your therapist, say so, “I’m not feeling very comfortable”. Sometimes we feel a sense of politeness and believe that the therapist must be right, but a good therapist would much prefer to hear any doubts or queries. Then s/he can put your mind at rest. When you are relaxed with your hypnotherapist, you’re more likely to get the outcome that you want from the therapy.
6. Know that change can happen quickly and sometimes it takes a bit longer
Hypnosis can feel magical. Sometimes people make big changes that feel natural and easy, like stopping smoking after a single hypnotherapy session. But not everyone! If your issue has been with you for many years, it may take a number of sessions for you to create the new patterns of thinking and behaving that you want.
7. Be prepared for ‘homework’!
Your hypnotherapy session takes up a fraction of your day. Be ready to do your part in continuing your progress between sessions; your therapist may ask you to do ‘homework assignments’. These are negotiable! But it’s good to begin to do some things differently. Then you’ll more quickly re-establish feelings of control over your issue and you’ll avoid becoming dependent on your therapist.
8. Follow up
You may want to choose a hypnotherapist who offers support between sessions via e-mail or phone. With any form of personal change, you may experience things that you want to talk about with your therapist before the next session is due. Do check whether they offer this before you choose them!
9. Focus on what you want
We tend to get more of what we focus on. So instead of focusing on the ‘problem’ start thinking of what it’ll be like when the problem has gone away completely. What will you be doing? How will you be thinking and feeling? Look for your successes and take small action steps towards what you want. It really will help you to get there.
10. Keep a journal so you can monitor your change
One of the curious features of change is that once it has occurred, we happily blank out the old state of mind. Keeping a journal or making notes after the sessions will help you to see how far you’ve come.
11. Spread the word!
Many people can benefit from hypnosis but are nervous of taking that first step. When you’ve achieved amazing results through hypnotherapy, please pass on the details of your hypnotherapist to family and friends. Spread the word!

I hope this helps make your decision to undertake hypnotherapy a much easier experience.

10 Simple ways to lose weight

Today I'd like to introduce you to ten of the simplest ways I've found that my clients have used to lose weight. I incorporate suggestion into my hypnosis sessions to include some of these points on a regular basis.

The First tip is to stay away from the fad and quick weight loss diet programs that promise effortless weight loss. Unfortunately most of these plans promise lots but deliver very little. And worse still could actually end up damaging your health.

Many weight loss tips can help you lose weight quick, but not many of them teach you how to keep the weight off once you’ve lost it. These easy ways to lose weight are simple tips that can help you lose weight now and teach you how to keep it off for good.

OK – here’s are ten easy ways to lose weight:
  1. Eat breakfast – everyday. Gets you metabolism going and stops you from getting hungry mid morning and making unhealthy snack choices.
  2. Always have vegetables or salad with lunch and dinner.
  3. Drop the snack bars and gave fruit or veggies instead.
  4. Replace full fat food and drinks with reduce fat versions – but don’t go for “diet” versions. The sales of diet drinks is increasing all the time and is pretty much parallel to the increase in obesity!
  5. Drop refined foods (like white bread, white pasta etc) and opt for wholegrain alternatives instead.
  6. Buy smaller plates so that you automatically reduce portion sizes.
  7. Slow you eating and chew your food more – when you feel satisfied stop eating – don’t keep going till you’re stuffed full.
  8. Only eat when you’re hungry – not when you feel you need a “reward” or some emotional gratification. If you’re not feeling hunger pangs, don’t eat.
  9. Cut out any sweetened and diet drinks and replace with water – and aim to drink a couple of liters a day. Build up to it if necessary but get there.
  10. Don’t eat evening meals in front of the TV. Sit at the dining table with your family/partner/friends/radio. No TV.
There! Ten easy ways to lose weight and keep it off – you will lose weight quickly if you stick with these weight loss tips, and you will keep if off if you incorporate them into your lifestyle too.

Let me know how you go. Visit www.greymatterz.co.uk to find out more.
